In June/July 2002 I visited central Europe. I rented a car and
visited astronomical observatories in the Czech Republic, Hungary,
Slovakia, Poland, and Lithuania. On the way I took a short side trip
through Romania. In Poland and the Czech Republic I visited several
of the memorials to the Holocaust in World War II. The following
