Son of Isis and Osiris (see Egyptian Mythology). He is the God of the Sky. He is depicted as a falcon or a man with the head of a falcon. He was closely associated with the Pharaoh of Upper Egypt. In the fight with Seth, one of his eyes was damaged and partially blinded. Since his eyes represented the Sun and the Moon, this explains why the Moon is dimmer than the Sun. He had several other manifestations such as Ra Horakhty, Montu, and Sokar. Other forms of Horus were Haroeris (the elder Horus) and Harsiesis (Horus, son of Isis).
